As soon as your photovoltaic system is connected to the grid, you will want it to run in the optimum operating state and supply maximum energy levels at all times. This requires extensive monitoring and efficient communication across the entire system. Our coordinated product solutions are the easy way to keep track of your yield levels

Continuous secure communication between the solar panel and master display is provided by other components from our industrial Ethernet range such as our serial/Ethernet converters, which quickly and efficiently convert from an RJ45 port to an optical port (with a SC or ST fibre optic connection), provide an interference-free and robust exchange of data in such situations.PV-Plant allows you to evaluate data both online and offline. Several large systems can be managed with ease with just one licence.

1) Continuous performance monitoring

Tiny differences in the performance levels of just one of the numerous photovoltaic modules in a system (known as mismatching) can reduce your yield. Partial shading or damage to individual modules can also cause problems. In order to operate the system most efficiently and thereby gain an optimum return, you need to continually monitor the performance of every single string to identify and ultimately eliminate potential weak spots. Help is available in the form of Weidmüller's TRANSCLINIC xi+, monitoring system which can be integrated in our combiner boxes.

2) Efficient communication

The monitoring data recorded is communicated to the master display via a Modbus RTU communication protocol based on the RS485 interface standard. Because of the size of photovoltaic parks, fibre optic cables are also often used to transfer data. Our media converters, which quickly and efficiently convert from an RJ45 port to an optical port (with a SC or ST fibre optic connection), provide an interference-free and robust exchange of data in such situations.
