Product News Electrical Connectivity

Our traditional and successful core business unit Electrical Connectivity stands for an extensive product range of "systematic components" for the complete construction of passive network infrastructures for automation systems, i.e. for power, signals and data. Starting with pure, component-based connection technology (terminals, industrial connectors for power, signals and data or PCB connectors), our integration into the customer's value chain extends to cable assembly, pre-assembled DIN rails with terminals and customized stainless steel boxes fully assembled with connection technology and electronics.

These plug&play modules are object of our CSS business. Customer-Specific Solutions (CSS) comprise technical consulting service, design and assembly for modules or subsystems in which Weidmüller products are optimized for specific applications and interact perfectly with each other. In terms of our operations, this business is strongly project-oriented. It is implemented and developed by a dedicated business unit with clear strategic objectives.

Close cooperation with our customers in the early design phase of projects enables us to jointly develop innovative solutions offering clear benefits for the customer’s complete process chain. Our TCO approach (Total Cost of Ownership) therefore begins in the design-in phase with the customer and results in the supply of application-tailored solutions – which could result in an innovative PCB or appliance connection or a complete industrial network infrastructure for an assembly line.

Due to Weidmüller's application expertise – one of the company's particular strengths – we can offer the exact combination of products which makes most sense for the customer’s particular needs, thus providing effective and cost-efficient solutions. This customer proximity and application expertise also serves as a source for our market-driven Product and Technology development divisions. It thus serves to enhance our market and technological leadership in this business field.
