Sustainability begins with product development. As part of our eco-design strategy, we design products to be more resource-efficient – through energy efficient design, environmentally friendly materials and the longest possible service life. Using life cycle assessments (LCA) and product carbon footprint (PCF) surveys, we systematically evaluate the environmental impact of our products across all life stages – from raw material extraction to disposal.
Our eco-design workshops are a key tool in this regard: here, product management and compliance teams develop specific environmental requirements at an early stage of development, e.g. for packaging, recyclability or the use of regulated substances.
